Privacy Policy

One field, one purpose. What the waitlist collects, who touches it, and what happens to it if MANTA never ships.

Short version: this page collects one thing, an email address, and only if you type it in. It exists so we can tell you when MANTA is ready. It is not sold and it is not shared.

01What this page collects

Your email address. That is the whole list.

There is no name field, no phone field, no company field, and no hidden fields. If you did not type it into the waitlist box, this site does not have it.

02What it is used for

To email you when MANTA reaches launch, and occasionally before that if there is real news: a spec that firmed up, a testing milestone, a date.

That is the entire purpose of the list. It is a launch announcement list, not a marketing funnel.

03What never happens to it

Your address is not sold, rented, traded, or handed to any other company.

It is not used to build an advertising audience. It is not uploaded to a social platform for lookalike targeting. There are no advertising pixels on this site to do that with in the first place.

04Who handles your email address

Kit, the email platform formerly called ConvertKit, stores the list and sends the emails. When you submit the form, your address goes to Kit and is held on their servers under their privacy policy.Netlify hosts this website.

Those two, plus whoever provides email on the receiving end. Nobody else.

05No analytics, no pixels

This site runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics tag, no Meta pixel, no heatmap tool, and no third-party tracker of any kind.

This site sets no cookies of its own. Kit may set a cookie when you submit the waitlist form so it can tell a repeat submission from a new one.

This is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly rather than burying: nobody is counting your visit.

06What this page loads from elsewhere

A few pieces are served by other companies, which means your browser contacts them and they can see your IP address:

  • Google Fonts, for the typefaces. Most policies skip this, so to be clear: Google's font servers see the IP address of every visitor.
  • Cloudflare, for the icon set.
  • Kit, at the moment you submit the form and not before.

07How long it is kept

Until you unsubscribe, or until the launch list has served its purpose and is retired.

If MANTA never ships, the list gets deleted rather than sold. That is worth putting in writing, because it is exactly the moment a pre-launch email list usually gets sold.

08Leaving the list

Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and you are off, permanently, with no confirmation screens trying to talk you out of it.

You can also reply to any email from the list and ask to be removed, or ask for your address to be deleted outright rather than just marked unsubscribed.

09Children

MANTA is marine equipment sold to adults. This site is not directed at children and no information is knowingly collected from anyone under 13.

10Visitors outside the United States

MANTA Systems LLC is a United States company and this site is hosted in the United States. If you sign up from elsewhere, your address is handled here, under United States law.

11Changes

When MANTA launches, this site will grow and this policy will be rewritten to match what the site actually does at that point. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.

12Questions

Every email from the waitlist comes from a monitored address. Reply to any of them and it reaches MANTA Systems directly.
